11th of September 2025

The Platform for Education and Talent is supporting 9 young artisans working in heritage professions who will represent Belgium at the European EuroSkills Herning 2025 competition in Denmark from 9th to 13th September, 2025.

Sofina and the heirs of Gustave Boël created this Platform, within the King Baudouin Foundation, which focuses on the emergence and support for young talents. Since 2015, this Platform has been working in partnership with Worldskills Belgium to train young craftsmen and women in the field of heritage in order that they can participate in the various competitions organized by Worldskills and Euroskills.

9 talented young people were selected by the Platform in the following categories:

• Mathéo BEBRONNE (aged 20) & Louis LEMAITRE (aged 20): Parks and Garden Design
• Mathis LESSIRE (aged 17): Carpentry
• Etienne FRANCOIS (aged 23): Cabinetmaking
• Brendan BOSSU (aged 17): Tiling
• Naomé HELLA BODMER (aged 18) & Lou-Ann FRAITURE (aged 19): Fashion technology
• Yente BECK (aged 19): Welding
• Maxence SPOO (aged 23): Bakery

Over the last few months, they have benefited from technical and mental coaching in preparation for the competition and to enable them to excel in their particular skills.

Every year since 2012, the Platform has launched a call for applications aimed at young Belgian artisans who would go on to receive training from the very best professionals in the various disciplines worldwide.
