New call: Grants to engage young curators

24th of February 2026

This new call for projects, which has been launched by the new thematic Fund Encourager les Jeunes Talents, the Orcona Fund and the Friends of the CODART Foundation, offers support for young curators - aged under 30 - and is aimed at providing them with an opportunity to acquire practical experience under the supervision of a mentor. Financial support in the form of a grant will enable recognized museums, as well as cultural and heritage institutions, to employ a young curator to work alongside an existing curator during a six-month period. The young talent will therefore benefit from the mentor’s experience as well as from being assigned certain responsibilities.

Three grants, each of €25,000, will be awarded:

• A grant offered by the thematic Fund Encourager les Jeunes Talents, created by the King Baudouin Foundation, is open to all young curators.
• A grant from the Orcona Fund, managed by the King Baudouin Foundation, is specifically designated for a project relating to 19th century heritage.
• A grant provided by the Friends of the CODART Foundation will be for a project specifically related to art in the Netherlands (the Netherlands and Flanders from 1350-1750).

Would you like to offer the opportunity to a young curatorr to gain his/her first professional experience in the field, whilst also strengthening the research potential of your organization? If so, please use this link to make an application (up until 14 May, 2026). The institutions selected to receive the grants will be announced by 30 June, 2026, at the latest.
