Jazz magazines

Unlike a record sleeve, which gives only a minimum of information, magazines provide a wealth of specific information, including interviews, reviews and discographies (an overview of records or albums made by an artist or group). In order to have the most complete information possible, Robert Pernet subscribed to all of the Belgian, French British and American magazines that covered jazz. He went to great lengths to find previous issues.

His collection of musical magazines notably includes the complete published set of L’Actualité musicale et artistique and the issues of Music, magazine international du jazz published between 1924 and 1940.
