Thanks to a donation from his widow, the works of Belgian painter Camille De Taeye is now preserved for future generations. The King Baudouin Foundation has entrusted this selection of his emblematic works to the Arthothèque of Mons. Thanks to restoration work financed by the Baillet Latour Fund, “Dulle Griet” (or “Mad Meg”) by Pierre Brueghel the Elder, has regained all the richness of its original colours. This masterpiece is one of the centrepieces of a Breughel retrospective exhibition at the Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna.
Brueghel’s "Margot the Mad", several masterpieces by Théodore Van Loon, a unique church rose-window and a model of Ancient Rome are among the pieces that have already found, or are finding, their former splendour thanks to support from our patrons’ funds.
Collectors and art enthusiasts alike will welcome the opportunity to discover the wonderful selection of treasures from Namur’s museums that will be exhibited at Antica Namur from 10th to 18th November. The event is an initiative of the City of Namur, with support from the Pierre François Tilmon Fund and the King Baudouin Foundation.
