The ninth Baron Velge Prize has been awarded to Professor Giorgos Antoniou for his work on the impact of World War II on society and current policies in present day Greece. To mark the occasion, Professor Antoniou will deliver an exclusive series of 4 lectures at the ULB.

On Friday, 11 October, the Laubespin-Lagarde Fund will be organising its annual study day at the Château de Freÿr. This fifth event will be devoted to handing down historic estates.

The René Carcan Fund has launched the fourth "René Carcan International Prize for Printmaking". Entry to the competition is open until 16 September 2019.

Violinist Anna Göckel has reached the semi-final of the 2019 Queen Elisabeth Competition. In 2017, she was able to record her first CD thanks to support from the Fravanni Fund, created within the King Baudouin Foundation with the aim of supporting young musicians.

For the fifth year running, the Platform for Education and Talent, created by Sofina and the heirs of Gustave Boël, is supporting talented young people who will represent Belgium in the international Worldskills competition taking place in Kazan (Russia) from 22 to 27 August 2019.
