This commemorative pipe is being exhibited to the general public for the first time as part of the exhibition "Gedreven door talent. 350 jaar edelsmeedkunst en Academie" (Driven by talent. 350 years of silverwork and the Academy), organized by the Sterckshof Silver Museum in Deurne.
This silver miniature commemorating the Battle of Waterloo illustrates the period between 1815-1817 and the cooperation between the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Antwerp and the (Royal) Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp. When the exhibition ends, the Silver Museum will undertake an in-depth scientific study of the work.
