A workshop on the subject of Stanley and Livingstone was held on 16 September 2013, within the framework of the exhibition « Dr Livingstone, I presume ». The event was a joint initiative of the Royal Museum of Central Africa and the King Baudouin Foundation Heritage Fund.

On 29 September 2013, Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis and Prince Lorenz, Honorary President of the Heritage Fund, paid a visit to the Royal Fine Arts Museums of Belgium and to the Saint Ursule Chapel in the Church of Notre Dame du Sablon.

The largest ever Henry van de Velde retrospective is now on show at the Musées Royaux d’Art et d’Histoire, Brussels, until 12 January 2014.

The symposium features the famous meeting between Stanley and Livingstone and, more notably, its important consequences for the exploration of Central Africa and Livingstone’s influence on Stanley.

To celebrate the bicentenary of Livingstone’s birth, the King Baudouin Foundation’s Heritage Fund and the Musée Royal de l’Afrique Centrale have joined forces to re-create the extraordinary meeting of Livingstone and Stanley. From 6/6/13 to 11/11/2013 at the BELvue Museum, Brussels.
