The Mercator Fund has published an essay by Dominique Allard, Director of the King Baudouin Foundation. The essay reaffirms the importance of private collectors and donors in preserving our heritage.

The history of computing is now accessible to everyone, thanks to the efforts of 4 collectors. A new space devoted to computers and computing opened in Namur on 27th October, 2016.

A reliquary, a ring and a bishop’s crozier from the Treasure of Oignies will be shown as part of an exhibition devoted to the influence of Jerusalem on medieval art at the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of New York.

Thanks to financial support from the Fund Abbé Manoël de la Serna, conservation treatment can be started in the coming months on Jacob van Maerlant’s « Rijmbijbel », the oldest illuminated manuscript in the Dutch language.
